About Us

**it’s pronounced nope**

Stephanie Pyle, Kim Andrews and Aaron M. Smith are the parents of the unruly brainchild, NOP Magazine. We are three over-educated poet-types who craved a literary adventure that fit our special tastes…. we wanted something funny, something clever, something relevant to our post-grad-school experiences. We wanted to be in charge of it and it couldn’t cost a lot (ahem, post-grad-school….).

NOP is born of the internet age. It’s an online avenue for good writing and good people. NOP is poetry, it’s flash fiction, it’s prose, it’s experimental line breaks and little cartoons. We love blogs and multimedia and memes. NOP: music, beer, style, snark. NOP is your wormhole into the world of hot, broke and talented.

We hope NOP publishes the kind of content you want to read too. Drop us a line and let us know how we’re doing. Want to play along? Check the submission guidelines and send us your awesome.

Why the name: NOP originally stood for “not on paper.” (We've said, “Nope, not on paper,” so many times we dropped the “e” and kept the pronunciation.) Sure, okay, we’re an online publication, it’s a little obvious…. But after a while, we got hooked on the sweet little pop of “nop,” and then we got all nerdy on the acronym game the letters promised. Seriously, how much fun are acronyms.

xoxo,
